    1. net stop wuauserv
    2. net stop cryptSvc
    3. net stop bits
    4. net stop msiserver
  6. Close the CMD window.
  7. Restart the computer and then run the updates once again.
  8. See if the Windows Updates are working fine and the error 0x80240fff.
